So I can't believe it's almost time for me to leave. Got confirmation that my brother will be picking me up from the airport. Thank you Johnny-after an over night flight, the last thing I wanted to do was try and navigate me and my over-sized pink luggage to my hotel on my own.
I've abandoned my quest to learn the language. Decided I'd rely on my striking good looks and quick wit to try and get myself around. : ) No back-up plan if that fails.
Next update will come from Yokosuka, Japan!! Wish me luck.
And Kat, since you won't be with me, I'm hoping I can avoid all the weird stares in the airport!!

Hey Kristi! It's Ky Ryzzdoll(Emma) from OHRG. Should you like a backup plan if your good looks stun the crowd and leave you in a lurch, I wanted to let you know about a website (Japanesepod101.com) which has free podcast lessons for Japanese. They have different levels, from newbie to expert to survival phrases. You can also buy an upgrade to get access to their learning center which is awesome. I love it! It's a great way to get your feet wet. Plus, you can download some lessons for that LONG plane ride over:)
Also, if you'd like, I happen to know a way to get a bootlegged version of Rosetta Stone with Japanese...

Learning Japanese prior to coming will be a huge asset for you!! Though challengeing, recognizing symbols would be very helpful for navigating.
